See, told you I was Italian...

I made these Italian Parmesan breadsticks today! Had no clue what I was doing. My kitchen looked like it snowed inside with flour sprinkled across the floor and counters. The magic bullet broke--guess it only had but so much magic. I had no rolling pin but the Ikea glass worked just as good.
Yes, we Italians are resourceful people. If you build a tower and it leans--turn it into a work of art and make it a tourist attraction. Dry breadsticks? Non un gran problema...dip them in yummilicious homemade marinara sauce!

Kayak Fever

Went kayaking today on the St. Joseph River.

I saw turtles, muskrats, fish jumping out of the water to catch bugs, and an awesome cabin on a little island. Need a waterproof camera so I can share the beauty.

The route was point A to point B on the MAP (along the blue winding river)

Wilderness Tabernacle

"Let them construct a sanctuary for Me, that I may dwell among them. According to all that I am going to show you, as the pattern of the tabernacle and the pattern of all its furniture, just so you shall construct it." Exodus 25:8,9

This is the "almost" finished project for The Doctrine of the Sanctuary course.

There is a quiet place...

Fernwood Botanical Garden and Nature Preserve is a beautiful place to enjoy God's creation. There are hiking trails, an interactive nature learning center, art museum, and an incredibly friendly staff. I visited last month and two kinds of flowers were already blooming!

A Wintry Spring Break

The Four Seasons. No, no, not Frankie Valli's band. No, not the hotel chain. You know, the Four Seasons.
In Michigan they are Winter, Warmer Winter, Hot-and-Humid Winter, and Pre-Winter.

Today, March 20 is the beginning of Warmer Winter. A few days ago, I headed north to Traverse City. What an incredibly beautiful place! The bay was completely frozen and there were ice fishermen sitting on buckets in the middle of the bay. Drove to the tip of two peninsulas and saw the Old Mission Lighthouse, the Hesler Log House (1856), and the Grand Traverse Lighthouse (1858).
Bumped into an old classmate from Southern, ate some of the best Latin American food on the planet at the Red Mesa Grill, (Cuban black bean cakes and fire roasted tomato soup...oh yeah!) and decided a return trip to Traverse City during the Hot-and-Humid Winter season is needed.

He who formed the eye, does He not see?

The word "eye" or "eyes" appears over 550 times in the Old and New Testaments!

The first recorded words of the usage of eyes is found in the beginning..."God saw that the light was good" (Genesis 1:4) Although we cannot say that God has "eyes" - two light-sensitive sensory organs that He placed in Adam's sockets, we can see that God sees!

Consider the first and the last verses of the Bible that mention the word "eyes":

"You surely will not die! For God knows that in the day you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil." (Genesis 3:4-5)

"And I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, "Behold, the tabernacle of God is among men, and He will dwell among them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be among them, and he will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away. Revelation 21:3-5

Take courage. God sees what you are going through today.
