Mass Pass

As a course assignment for Roman Catholic Life & Thought, our class visited the Basilica of the Sacred Heart on the campus of the University of Notre Dame Friday, Nov. 14. We attended Mass and toured the Basilica.

Photos include:

1. The Bell Tower
2. Artistic Ceilings
3. One of the 42 large stained glass windows
4. "Peter" and Pope Benedict XVI
5. View of the Tabernacle (where the "leftovers" of Christ's body are stored after the Eucharist)
6. Confessional
7. The Baptismal Font
8. Entrance view (Holy oils are stored in the glass cabinet on left)
9. The Grotto (The Grotto is a one-seventh replica of the famed French shrine where the Blessed Virgin appeared to Saint Bernadette. Thousands visit the Notre Dame shrine each year to pray and light candles.)

¡Viva el cambio!

I've always liked change.
During the first few years of my life, my hair changed colors naturally! At birth, I was born with a head full of straight, raven black hair. By age 2, I was bouncing around with fire-engine red curls. By age 3, my hair settled on what it must have liked most...blonde. But today, thanks to Clairol, it's "Golden Glow on the Go."

Don't worry. If you liked the blonde me, it's not permanent...even though it says so on the box. :)

So, to initiate my entrance into the brunette world, I'll begin with some humor.

She was so blonde that...

She thought a quarterback was a refund

On the bottom of a job application where it said "Sign here" she wrote "Sagittarius"

She spent an hour staring at an orange juice box because it said "Concentrate"

Ouch!

I am very thankful that this and another icky scrape on my palm were the only injuries in the motorized scooter incident last Sunday. Just another entry in the Shelley-is-accident-prone chronicles.
